  • Moderate Break (2-5 mins)
  • All Ages
  • Dance and Rhythm

Instructions

How It Works

Each fruit has a number of syllables that match musical notes:
  • “Pear” = 1 syllable = 1 clap
  • “Apple” = 2 syllables = 2 quick claps
  • “Coconut” = 3 syllables = 3 quick claps
  • “Watermelon” = 4 syllables = 4 quick claps

Instructions

  • Watch the video or follow the teacher’s lead.
  • Watch and listen for each fruit.
  • Clap once for each syllable in the fruit’s name.
  • Try to keep the rhythm steady and have fun with the beat!

Tips

  • Encourage students to say the fruit name as they clap.
  • Add stomps or snaps for extra fun!
  • Try making up your own fruit rhythms and challenge classmates to follow along.
This activity is a playful way to boost rhythm, listening skills, and energy in the classroom!
